What you are buying, and what we owe you.
Version 1, 14 September 2026. These terms apply to every course purchase made from this date. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
1. Who you are contracting with
London School of AI Governance Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17373376, registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF. In these terms, "we" and "the school" mean that company, and "you" means the person buying a course.
You can reach us at [email protected]. Replies are read by the Director of Studies rather than routed to a support queue.
2. What you are buying
A licence to use the course materials for the course or bundle you bought, the right to sit its assessment under the rules in section 6, and a certificate if you pass. The licence is personal to you and cannot be transferred, shared or resold. Your access key is yours alone; sharing it is a breach of these terms and grounds for withdrawal of access under section 10.
The London School of AI Governance provides professional and continuing education courses. Its certificates are professional continuing education credentials, not academic degrees, diplomas or government-recognised qualifications.
3. Price, currency and tax
The price is the one shown on the course page at the moment you buy, in pounds sterling. If you are outside the United Kingdom our payment provider may offer to charge you in your local currency at a converted rate that includes a conversion fee, shown to you before you pay; paying in pounds is always offered. Prices include any UK VAT where it applies. Where we are required to account for tax in your own country, the price shown is inclusive of it.
4. Payment and access
Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or hold your card details. On payment you receive an access key by email, and access begins immediately.
Your access is lifetime access. We set no expiry on it, we do not charge a renewal, and we will never withdraw it from you because time has passed or because you stopped using it. That is a commitment about what we will do, and it is the part that is ours to keep.
What no company can honestly promise is that it will exist forever, so here is the rest of it plainly. If the school ever stops operating the course platform, we will give you at least 90 days' notice by email and make the course materials you bought available to download and keep. A certificate you have earned remains valid and verifiable whatever happens to the course or to us.
5. Your right to cancel, and our refund policy
The statutory right. As a consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase and receive a refund. For digital content supplied immediately, that right ends once supply begins, provided you have consented to immediate supply and acknowledged that you lose the right to cancel. At checkout you are asked to agree to these terms, which include that consent and acknowledgement, and access begins at once.
What we do beyond that. We would rather refund someone who is disappointed than keep their money, so within 14 days of purchase we will refund you in full on request if you have not started an assessment and have not been issued a certificate for the course. Ask at [email protected] and we will process it to your original payment method.
After 14 days, or once you have started an assessment or been issued a certificate, we do not offer refunds, because by then you have had the thing you paid for. This does not affect your legal rights if the course is faulty, is not as described, or is not supplied with reasonable care and skill.
6. Assessment rules
Each course assessment draws 25 questions from a bank of at least 60. The pass mark is 80 per cent, which is 20 of 25. You have three attempts. An attempt is used when a paper is drawn, so an unfinished paper still counts, and papers expire 24 hours after they are started.
If you do not pass in three attempts, you may have one further attempt, free, on request by email, two days or more after your third. A course you have already passed cannot be re-sat, and your certificate for it stands. Your course materials remain open to you whether you pass or not.
You are asked to make an academic integrity declaration before your first attempt. Submitting someone else's work as your own, sitting an assessment on another person's behalf, or sharing assessment content is academic misconduct and is dealt with under section 10.
7. Certificates
A certificate is issued on a pass, carries a unique ID, and can be checked by anyone at our verification page. We may revoke a certificate if it was issued in error, if it was obtained through academic misconduct, or if the purchase behind it is refunded or charged back. We will tell you in writing before we revoke one, and you may appeal under section 8.
8. Complaints and appeals
Raise anything at [email protected]. We acknowledge within two working days and respond substantively within ten. Assessment appeals are second-marked and decided by an independent external moderator, appointed at first appeal, and never by the person whose decision is being appealed.
9. What the courses are and are not
Our courses are professional education about AI governance. They are not legal advice, and nothing in them creates a professional adviser relationship. Where a course describes law or a standard, it does so as at the verified-as-at date shown on the course, and law changes. Decisions you take in your organisation remain yours.
10. If these terms are broken
If you share your access key, redistribute course materials, or commit academic misconduct, we may withdraw access, revoke a certificate, or both. We will set out what we believe happened and give you the chance to answer before we act, except where we must act immediately to protect other learners or the integrity of a credential.
11. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with a course is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for business losses, since our courses are sold for professional education rather than for any particular commercial outcome.
12. Changes to these terms and to courses
We may improve course materials and assessments at any time, and we do so regularly; the record of substantive changes is published on our standards page. We may change these terms for future purchases, and the terms that apply to you are the ones you agreed to when you bought. If we have to change them for an existing purchase for legal reasons, we will tell you by email first.
13. Your data
What we collect and why is set out on our privacy page. In short: your email address, your name if you ask for it on a certificate, your purchase record and your assessment results. We do not track whether you open our emails.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law of your own country, and nothing here removes it.
